Abstract

The integration of AI in journalism has become a focal point in addressing the evolving challenges faced by newsrooms in Egypt and India. This study explores AI literacy trends among journalists, highlighting the dual pressures of shifting news consumption habits and dwindling revenue streams. It underscores the potential for reputable news organizations to leverage AI for quality journalism, emphasizing the importance of trustworthy and high-quality content. The research delves into the ethical considerations and regulatory frameworks governing AI in media, noting the necessity for enhanced AI literacy to ensure responsible use. Through case studies and expert insights, the paper identifies a significant knowledge gap among journalists regarding AI technologies, advocating for comprehensive training and ethical guidelines. The findings suggest that AI can augment journalistic efficiency while maintaining integrity and independence, ultimately fostering a more informed and engaged audience.
