This research aims to study "The Historical / Critical Vision in the Intellectual and Reformist Formation of Muhammad Abdu". This subject belongs to the field of research in intellectual history. It answers this major question: Is Muhammad Abdu an intellectual scholar of Sayyid Jamal al-Din al-Afghani, and does he belong to his reformist school, or is there another school to which he belongs? The research examines two main issues, one of them is: "the intellectual formation of Muhammad Abdu", and it includes the early upbringing of Muhammad Abdu and the relationship of his upbringing to the reformist school of Al-Tahtawi. The other is The Reform issues", and it includes the topics that Muhammad Abdu dealt with versus the topics of Al-Afghani and Al-Tahtawi to investigate whether the issues handled by Muhammad Abdu regarding Reform topics are close to the issues handled by Al-Afghani or those handled by Al-Tahtawi.
